Carmoisine is a widely used artificial food color that is available as a powder and liquid soluble in water and oil. This color is known as E122 and its scientific name is Disodium Hydroxyl. Carmiosine is one of the disodium salts, which is cheap and stable and makes up 60 to 70% of the colors used in the food and textile industries. Due to its ability to create beautiful red colors in a wide range of foods such as jelly, sodas and drinks, sweets, dairy products, desserts, chewing gum, dragees, compotes, ice cream, cakes and it is used to decorate food.
Carmoisine is used as a base material and also in combination with essential oils in the formulation of many drinks and has many fans. This substance is also used in jams, including cherry and strawberry jam, red compotes, cooking powders, rose syrup, sodas (Fanta), mouthwash, cheesecake and gummy.
